The Macron Act introduced a number of obligations for companies established outside France that second staff to France. Checks are becoming increasingly common in the road haulage and passenger transport sectors, as well as in the inland waterway haulage and passenger transport sectors.

To comply with the Macron law and avoid any penalties, it is compulsory to appoint a representative in France, who will put your employee in touch with the French authorities and help you to fill in your prior declaration of secondment (SIPSI) setting out the conditions of your employee’s secondment. It will also enable you to store your documents, as the Macron law stipulates that it is compulsory to keep documents relating to the secondment, which must be available for consultation by the French authorities, for 18 months from the end of the secondment.
